The Broken Silence
A completed debut manuscript: Women’s fiction with elements of suspense and a subtle faith-based thread.
Emersyn Grant is set to marry Mark Donovan when she witnesses a betrayal that shatters the future she thought they would share. She flees, only to cause an accident that lands her in the emergency room with Andrew McKenzie, a stranger whose kindness and steady presence soon become more important than she ever expected.
Still grieving the loss of her parents and believing God no longer cares about her life, Emersyn turns to Aunt Sherry, the only family she has left. But when Sherry reveals a long-buried family secret, Emersyn is forced to question what she thought she knew about her family and herself.
As Mark refuses to let her go and his pursuit becomes increasingly dangerous, Emersyn must find the courage to trust again, confront the truth, and decide whether the faith she thought she’d lost might still have a place in her life.
Behind the Story
The Broken Silence began with a simple idea: what happens when the life you thought you could count on suddenly changes?
As I wrote Emersyn’s story, it became about much more than betrayal. It became a story about grief, trust, family, and what happens to faith when life doesn’t turn out the way we expected.
At its heart, it’s a story about finding the courage to move forward when you can’t go back to the life you had before.
