About Angela

I’m Angela Maria, a fiction writer living in the heart of Montana’s Rocky Mountains.

I’ve always been drawn to stories that keep me guessing, but the ones I remember the most are those that make me care deeply about the people inside them. That’s what I hope to create in my own writing…stories with suspense and unexpected turns, but also with heart, hope, and a quiet thread of faith.

Writing a novel was a dream I carried for years before finally deciding it was time to stop dreaming about it and start writing. Now, with my first novel complete, I’m pursuing the next steps in that dream, and discovering there are still plenty of stories I want to tell.

A Little More About Me:

When did you first discover your love for writing?

I’ve loved writing since I was a little girl. I would fill the pages of journals, write short stories, and writing essays for school was never a chore. It has always been easier for me to write my thoughts than to share them out loud. Bringing a story and its characters to life on the page has always been thrilling to me.

What inspired you to write your first book?

I had a story bursting inside of me that I knew I needed to get out. It’s a story of overcoming life’s hurdles, finding your voice again, and learning that it’s okay to trust and have faith. If my story can uplift even one person on their own journey, then writing it was more than worth it.

What’s your go-to writing snack or drink?

That’s easy…coffee, or more coffee. Or anything chocolate.

Do you outline your books, or do you figure it out as you write?

I am definitely a “pantser”. Figuring it out by the seat of my pants. No outline. The thought of outlining my story first makes my hands sweat. When I’m writing, I have no idea what the next chapter will be or how the suspense will play out until I actually sit down to write it. But that’s okay, I’m always excited to see what happens next, too!

What’s one book you’ve read over and over again?

Just one?! Gone With the Wind would top the list for sure. And it's sequel, Scarlett. And I can’t leave out Pride & Prejudice.

What might we find you doing when you’re not writing?

Traveling. I LOVE to travel. There’s something thrilling about experiencing new cultures and seeing new places around the world. Traveling opens your mind in ways few things can. I’m convinced life was not meant to be lived in only one place.

When I’m not traveling, you’ll find me gardening, hiking, or sitting under a tree enjoying whatever I’m currently reading.
